Preheat the Oven
- Set your oven to 425°F (220°C). A hot oven ensures your flatbread turns crisp and lightly golden.
Prepare the Chicken Mixture
- In a mixing bowl, toss the shredded chicken with barbecue sauce. Coat thoroughly so every piece absorbs that smoky sweetness.
Prep the Flatbread
- Place flatbreads on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly brush the edges with olive oil to help them crisp up beautifully.
Layer the Toppings
- Start by spreading a thin layer of barbecue sauce over each flatbread. Add the sauced chicken, then top with shredded cheese and sliced red onion.
Bake
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the flatbread are golden.
Add Fresh Toppings
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chopped cilantro on top. Add jalapeños or green onions if you like extra heat or freshness.
Slice and Serve
- Cut into squares or long strips. Serve warm with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
