  • 6 –8 slices prosciutto
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish optional
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional: crumbled goat cheese or blue cheese for serving

Equipment

  • Grill pan or outdoor grill
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Small brush for honey
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Tongs or spatula

Method

Prepare the Apples
  1. Wash and core the apples.
  2. Slice them into ½-inch thick rounds or wedges, depending on your preference.
  3. Lightly brush each slice with olive oil to prevent sticking and promote caramelization.
Grill the Apples
  1. Preheat your grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat.
  2. Place apple slices directly on the grill.
  3. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until grill marks appear and apples are tender but still hold their shape.
  4. Remove from the grill and set aside.
Prepare the Prosciutto
  1. While the apples are grilling, gently separate prosciutto slices.
  2. Optionally, briefly warm prosciutto slices in a dry skillet for 30–60 seconds to slightly crisp edges.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Place grilled apple slices on a serving platter.
  2. Drape prosciutto over or around the apples.
  3. Drizzle honey evenly on top of the apples and prosciutto.
  4. Sprinkle with black pepper and garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary.
  5. Optional: Add crumbled goat cheese or blue cheese for added creaminess.
Serve and Enjoy
  1. Serve immediately while warm. These grilled apples with prosciutto and honey pair beautifully with a crisp white wine or a sparkling beverage for a sophisticated appetizer or snack.
