  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice fresh preferred
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce optional, for depth
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Fresh parsley

Equipment

  • Large skillet or nonstick pan
  • Small bowl (for sauce mixing)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Tongs or fish spatula
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Method

Prepare the Salmon
  1. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels. This helps the glaze adhere and promotes better browning.
  2. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Expert Tip: Leaving the skin on helps protect the salmon while cooking and keeps the fillet moist.
Make the Honey Garlic Butter Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in:
  3. Minced garlic
  4. Honey
  5. Lemon juice
  6. Soy sauce (if using)
  7. Red pepper flakes
  8. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and becomes glossy.
  9. This glaze is the star of the recipe—it caramelizes beautifully and gives the salmon its signature flavor.
Bake or Pan-Sear the Salmon
  1. You can choose your preferred cooking method:
  2. Oven-Baked Version (Most foolproof)
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Place the salmon on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Pour half of the honey garlic butter mixture over the salmon.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness. Broil for 1–2 minutes for caramelized edges.
  7. Pan-Seared Version (Best caramelization)
  8. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  9. Place salmon skin-side down and sear for 3–4 minutes.
  10. Flip and pour the glaze over the salmon. Lower heat and cook 4–5 minutes more, spooning sauce over the top.
Finish with Fresh Lemon and Sauce
  1. Once cooked, drizzle remaining sauce over the salmon.
  2. Top with lemon slices and chopped parsley for freshness.
