Prepare the Salmon
- Pat the salmon dry with paper towels. This helps the glaze adhere and promotes better browning.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Expert Tip: Leaving the skin on helps protect the salmon while cooking and keeps the fillet moist.
Make the Honey Garlic Butter Sauce
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Stir in:
- Minced garlic
- Honey
- Lemon juice
- Soy sauce (if using)
- Red pepper flakes
- Simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and becomes glossy.
- This glaze is the star of the recipe—it caramelizes beautifully and gives the salmon its signature flavor.
Bake or Pan-Sear the Salmon
- You can choose your preferred cooking method:
- Oven-Baked Version (Most foolproof)
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the salmon on a lined baking sheet.
- Pour half of the honey garlic butter mixture over the salmon.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, depending on thickness. Broil for 1–2 minutes for caramelized edges.
- Pan-Seared Version (Best caramelization)
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place salmon skin-side down and sear for 3–4 minutes.
- Flip and pour the glaze over the salmon. Lower heat and cook 4–5 minutes more, spooning sauce over the top.
Finish with Fresh Lemon and Sauce
- Once cooked, drizzle remaining sauce over the salmon.
- Top with lemon slices and chopped parsley for freshness.
